mbpc has provided estimating and cost planning services for construction projects using the progressive integrated methodology of measurement and valuation it has developed over the past decade.

The methodology, the Rail Method of Measurement (RMM suite) including the first industry standard form of elemental cost analysis for railway works and its associated rules of the measurement of works, NRM Rail (New Rules of Measurement – Rail), provide an elemental basis for preparing detailed estimates of costs that are linked to the quality of design and project information available and the level of risk, which is acceptable to the client.

Feasibility studies, undertaken by mbpc, cover the cost of the entire project, if required, and are not confined to the cost of construction works; the service extends to the analysis of the project programme, linked to the availability of funds and the project cash flow.

Feasibility studies undertaken by mbpc cover both capital and operational cost estimates, the latter conforming to the requirements of PD 156865 – “Standardized Method of Life Cycle Costing for Construction Procurement” – a supplement to BS ISO 15686-5 Buildings & constructed assets – Service life planning – Part 5 : Life cycle costing

Alternative construction solutions are considered to assist the client to make an informed choice in reaching his decision to provide funding to commit to the project.
